A journey of Rim saving Sasakawa, a researcher who have been trapped in the contaminated restricted area, also an important person that play a role of elder brother of Rime in her childhood. 

The Shinkaiju City Incident occurred in 2X10, where chemicals were dispersed in Shinkaiju City, resulting in the death of many residents. The series of monsters born as a result of the incident are referred to as "Strangeness."
